As an adventurous mom of two energetic boys, I thrive on sharing our exciting experiences, starting from local adventures and extending to our travels and family fun everywhere we go. My mission is to inspire fellow moms to step out of their comfort zones, prioritize self-care, and embark on thrilling adventures with their children.

What are your top recommendations or 'must-visit' spots in Aurora for travelers looking to experience the essence of the city?

From our favorite parks, Carson and Del Mar and Red-Tailed Hawk, to the best indoor play spot, Lava Island. Our must-visit spots include places for the whole family. The Stanley Marketplace, a vibrant community hub housed in a former aviation manufacturing facility, offers a mix of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options. Jewell Wetlands Park provides walking trails with countless opportunities for nature and wildlife viewing. Nights spent with a relaxing stay at the Gaylord Rockies, where the comfort of the great outdoors is just an elevator away.

Can you share your ideal day-trip itinerary for someone visiting Aurora for the first time? What are the must-see attractions and hidden gems you would recommend?

Start your morning with a delicious breakfast from The French Press. In the late morning and early afternoon, enjoy outdoor activities at Aurora Reservoir and dive into local history at the Aurora History Museum. Lunch at Comida in the Stanley Marketplace while browsing shops selling unique artisanal goods, clothing, and home decor. In the late afternoon and evening, take a guided tour at Plains Conservation Center and savor a more upscale dinner at Borealis. Finally, unwind with a martini at The Hideaway Lounge. 

Aurora is home to a thriving culinary scene. When dining out in Aurora, what are some of your favorite restaurants or eateries that you would recommend to visitors looking to experience the local cuisine?

Aurora offers a diverse culinary scene catering to various tastes. Whether you crave a hands-on dining experience like a DIY hotpot at Aki Asian Hotpot or seek a tranquil, upscale evening at The Common Good inside the Benson Hotel, Aurora has options for everyone. Families can relish in American classics at Black Bear or Rosie's Diner, while couples can indulge in a romantic date night at Annette.

Shopping is often a highlight of travel experiences. Where are some of your favorite spots to shop for unique, locally-made goods or one-of-a-kind finds in Aurora?

The bustling heart of Aurora lies within the Southlands shopping center. Nestled in the southeastern part of the city, this outdoor mall offers a diverse array of shops catering to every shopper's preferences. The vibrant atmosphere is palpable throughout, from local boutiques to well-known chain brands. Whether kids frolicking in the summer sprinklers or ice skaters gliding across the rink in winter, Southlands is always alive with activity.

Aurora is surrounded by stunning natural landscapes. Do you have a favorite outdoor activity or park in Aurora that you would recommend to travelers seeking outdoor adventures?

Regarding outdoor activities in Aurora, the Morrison Nature Center in northern Aurora is a top contender. Exploring the trails of Star K Ranch, engaging in a game of eye spy, or creating a leaf and flower chart sets the stage for a memorable adventure. Afterward, head to the nature center to learn about the area's wonders and meet some friendly creatures. Additionally, don't miss out on the serene beauty of Jewell Wetlands Park and the recreational opportunities at Aurora Reservoir, which offer unforgettable experiences amidst nature's splendor.
