Southlands Kentucky Derby Celebration

When: May 6th, 2:30-5:30pm

Don your fancy hats, fascinators, and seersucker suits, and join us to watch the Run for the Roses! Featuring live music by Montage, food and drinks from your favorite restaurants, contests, and prizes for "Best Hat," and more. Stop by the Kid’s Corral with lots of fun activities and, of course, the running of the Kentucky Derby!

Night Market at Stanley

This FREE event features local food, live dance performances, makers, musicians, and DJs from Aurora's AANHPI community. Performances begin at 12 PM on the Southeast Plaza, followed by the Night Market from 2-8 PM in the Hangar. Come taste the flavors of Asia, dance to K-pop and J-pop, and shop til you drop at this first-ever celebration of its kind here at Stanley.

Spend your Cinco De Mayo at Town Center at Aurora for an all-day celebration! Enjoy mariachi from 2-4 pm, and "From Mexico Con Amor" will be handing out candy. The Flavor of Tabasco food truck will also be set up outside of the food court entrance from 5-7 pm.

Light the footlights and raise the curtains! The Aurora Singers ends its 46th season with a tribute to New York City's famed Broadway, a special place that has showcased thousands of shows and produced some of our most memorable songs. They've saved the best for last with some of Broadway's greatest hits, including "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", "Pippin", "Newsies", "Les Miserables", "Godspell" "Grease", "Jersey Boys", and "Singin' in the Rain" to name a few.

Spring Along Scavenger Hunt

Colorado Remembers
Where: Colorado Freedom Memorial
When: May 27th

Activities begin at 8 a.m. with a free pancake breakfast. The special ceremony and tribute will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and will feature the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard and Drill Team from Washington, D.C., along with the Sound of the Rockies Men's Chorus. The ceremony will be followed by special tours of the Memorial, the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument, and various static military displays for all to experience as we gather to honor, educate and remember. Bring family and friends, and join as we celebrate those we will never forget.

Field Day and Great Outdoors Of Aurora Exhibit Opening
Where: Aurora History Museum
When: May 7th, 11am-3pm

Learn about Aurora's open space and recreation opportunities and try a new activity. Enjoy performances and workshops, including boomerang demonstrations, kite demonstrations, and outdoor photography tips. Compete in the balloon/egg toss, 3-legged race, wheelbarrow race, and nail-pounding competition. There will also be a rolling pin toss, kid's barrel race, bocce, croquet, stomp rockets, kubb, giant Jenga, outdoor AMC scavenger hunt, and a mini golf game. The event is free, but please register.

The idea of gender roles and the belief and expectations associated with them has existed forever. In Elizabeth Rex, by Timothy Findley, questions around these roles take the forefront in this funny, provocative, and soulful drama about a group of Shakespeare's actors, including Shakespeare himself, as they duel and banter with each and Queen Elizabeth when she surprises them backstage after their performance on the night before her ex-lover, the Earl of Sussex, is to be executed.

It's A Scavenger Hunt, Aurora!

This all-age activity is a smartphone-guided event where you play alone with your group in your neighborhood on your own schedule by following instructions provided by the in-game host.
