His music career began in 1954 at Sun Records with producer Sam Phillips, who wanted to bring the sound of African-American music to a wider audience. Add the brilliance and drive of Colonel Tom Parker, and 400 million in record sales ensued.
The man was gorgeous, talented, and much more intelligent than given credit. However, years of prescription drug abuse and unhealthy eating habits severely compromised his health, and Presley died unexpectedly in August 1977 at his estate at the age of 42. The reason for his death is still uncertain…
