Do you think all librarians do is read and shush people? Come to this program to learn about the origin of public libraries and the scope of what librarians are asked to do now! Emily Miner will discuss the founding of Aurora's Public Library and how libraries emerged. Ashleigh Ruggeri, MLIS, will give a short presentation on Horseback Librarians and notable women in the history of libraries. Maya Espersen, MLIS, will share all the unappreciated work that goes into being a librarian today. There will be time for questions and discussions throughout the program.
