BALTIMORE, Sept. 5, 2013 — US Lacrosse today named Aurora, Colo., host of the 2014 US Lacrosse Under-15 National Championships, powered by Lacrosse Unlimited.
The sixth annual championships, which feature as many as 32 boys’ and 32 girls’ teams from around the country, will take place concurrently July 21-23 at Aurora Sports Park, just east of Denver.
Teams that participate in the championships may purchase discounted tickets to the July 17-19 playoff games of the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Men’s World Championships, which US Lacrosse is hosting at nearby Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver.
“We are thrilled to team with Visit Aurora to bring our signature youth tournament to the West for the first time, and to give our U15 teams the opportunity to experience the once-in-alifetime FIL World Championships,” said Beth Porreca, director of special events at US Lacrosse. “In addition to high-level competition, our youth tournaments emphasize sportsmanship and building relationships among teammates and opponents.
