Visit Aurora Honors Local Business Owners as 2014 "Tourism Ambassadors of the Year"
Jan. 19, 2015 – Aurora, Colo. – Visit Aurora is proud to announce it has honored Aurora residents and business owners, Dan and Jennifer Gaudreau, as its 2014 “Tourism Ambassadors of the Year.”
The Gaudreau’s own the Rocky Mountain Lifting Club (RMLC), a private gym dedicated to helping both competitive and recreational strength and power athletes of all ages and levels, reach their highest potential. In 2011, RMLC assisted Visit Aurora in bidding and securing the city’s first two international championships.
In November 2014, the Gaudreau’s organized and executed the International Powerlifting Federation Men’s and Women’s World Championships, drawing international visitors and competitors to Aurora. The couple also served as international ambassadors for Aurora by hosting multiple regional, national and international strength and power competitions. In the last two years, their efforts produced a more than $2 million economic impact for Aurora hotels, restaurants and retailers.
“Dan and Jennifer are perfect examples of what the Visit Aurora Tourism Ambassador should be,” said Gary Wheat, President and CEO of Visit Aurora. “These two provide such a positive influence and make a remarkable impact on our city. We are thrilled to present this award to them and to the Rocky Mountain Lifting Club, and are excited to host more prestigious sporting events in 2015.”
